Building Knowledge. Inspiring Action.
A Home for Learning, Connection, and Conservation

Protecting wildlife isn’t just about what happens in the bush — it begins in classrooms, community halls, and the hands of people who care enough to act.
That’s why we’re building the Southern Highlands Wildlife Sanctuary Education Centre, a dedicated hub for learning, training, and community engagement in Bundanoon.
Made possible by the extraordinary generosity of partners like Petrea King and the Quest for Life Foundation, who supported us with the land, and Studio Era architects – who have provided us with the Design & Development, Clarke Kann Lawyers, and Kelly & Partners, this centre represents a powerful community-backed vision.
The Education Centre will offer:
- Curriculum-linked learning programs for primary, secondary, and tertiary students
- Outdoor ecology workshops exploring biodiversity, habitats, and native species
- Volunteer and carer training to build capacity in wildlife rescue and rehabilitation
- Community conservation events, talks and workshops
- Citizen science programs connecting everyday observations to real research
- A space for connection, where people can learn why wombats matter, what threatens our koalas, and how we can restore local ecosystems together
This centre will be more than a building.
It will be a place where knowledge grows, where action begins, and where the next generation of conservation leaders is born.
